Overview

If your company has activated the two factor authentication (2FA) login requirement, you will be required to enter a second verification method in addition to your email and password when you login to Syncta. This article describes the different 2FA options and how to set each one up. You must choose one of three options: SMS, Email, or an Authenticator App. Once you choose an option, go to the applicable section below for instructions on how to set it up.

  • SMS and Email options use the phone number or email information in your user profile. Each time you enter your email and password in Syncta, you will be prompted to send a confirmation code to your phone or email address, and then enter that code into Syncta.

  • An Authenticator App option can be installed and set up on any phone that you choose. Each time you enter your email and password in Syncta, you will need to open the authenticator app on your phone, note the confirmation code, and then enter that code into Syncta.

Set Up SMS Via Phone

NOTE: We suggest confirming the phone number in your user profile before setting up this option. If you don't have one yet, adding this option will also add it to your user profile.

1. If you want to send a code to the phone number in your user profile each time you login to Syncta, click Set Up SMS.

NOTE: Only users in the United States can currently use this option.

2. Enter your area code and phone number on the Contact Number page, and then click Confirm Number to continue.

3. On the Enter One-Time Password page, click Send One-Time Password to send a confirmation code to your phone.

4. Check your phone's text messages for a Syncta authentication code and make note of it.

5. Enter the six-digit confirmation code from your phone, and then click Confirm and Enable Two Factor.

NOTE: This code is only valid for two minutes.

A confirmation message appears at the top of the main Set Up Two Factor Authentication page.

6. Click View Backup Codes And Go to My Profile to view a list of single-use codes that can be used instead of a confirmation code. These are helpful if you forget or change your user email or phone number.

7. Save these codes for future reference, and then click Back to My Profile to go to your user profile.

IMPORTANT! Once you exit the Backup Codes page, you can no longer see these codes. We strongly suggest taking a screen shot of these codes or copying and pasting them into a document for future reference.
