Overview
If you have external users that you want to use your submission portal, there are two roles you can create:
Technician
Admin
External users can be added on the Manage External Users page. Read below to learn about what each role can do in Syncta.
NOTES
If you want an external user to enter tests on behalf of other users, you must assign them the Admin role.

Technician
If you have external users that you want to use your submission portal but only have access to limited information, you can assign them the Technician user role. Technicians can:
Only see pending and rejected tests assigned to them
Test assemblies that are assigned to them
View customers, service locations, and assemblies that are associated with tests assigned to them
Add new service locations (and related customers if not found)
NOTE: This option will only appear if the purveyor has allowed it on the Portal Options page. New service locations must be approved by the purveyor.
Add new assemblies for customers with tests that are assigned to them
Edit/replace assembly information associated with tests that are assigned to them
NOTE: Purveyors can choose on the Portal Options page whether they want to approve assembly changes before they go into effect or allow them to go into effect immediately.
Search for an assembly by Syncta ID or serial number
Search for an assembly by service location address
NOTE: This option will only appear if the purveyor has allowed it on the Portal Options page.
Edit their user information
Edit their gauge information
When applicable, view cart information
Admin
In addition being able to perform the same tasks as technicians, admins can also:
Delete assemblies for customers with tests that are assigned to them
NOTE: This option will only appear if the purveyor has allowed it on the Portal Options page. Deleted assemblies must be approved by the purveyor.
Add gauges
Edit gauge information for all users
Edit information for all users
Add/edit payment information
View payment history
View submission history
NOTE: External admin users cannot create new users. This must be done by the purveyor.
