Latest Syncta Updates

We've made a number of updates this quarter related to pending retests, survey deficiencies, and notifications. Click on any of the links below to go directly to the section in this article to learn more:

New External Technician User Role

If you have testers that you want to use Syncta but have access to limited information, you can assign them the new external technician user role when you add them as a user in Syncta. External technicians can:

  • Only see routes that are assigned to them on the Routes page.

  • Only see appointments that are assigned to them on the Appointments page.

  • Only see tests assigned to them on the Pending Tests page.

  • View customers, service locations, and assemblies that are associated with tests on routes to which they are currently assigned.

  • View and edit customer, service location, and assembly information for a scheduled test of an assembly that is on their assigned route.

Pending Retest Updates

We've made several updates and added new Pending Retest functionality. Read below for more information.

Notifications for Pending Retests

When a tester marks a test as failed but does not enter a passing retest at the same time, a record is automatically created on the Tests Pending Retest page. You can send notifications to the customer about what needs to be repaired, as well as the date by which they need to have their assembly retested. You can also send past due notices for pending retests when they have not been completed by the required due date.

Creating a Notification Template for Pending Retests (Testing Companies)

Purveyors can also use new pending retest values to create a pending retest notification template that can be used to send to customers.

New Field On the Perform Test Page When a Test Fails

If a tester indicates that a test has failed on the Perform Test page, the new Retest Due Date field will appear.

The date entered here will also appear in the new Due Date column for this test on the Tests Pending Retest page. This new column will sort tests by due date, with the most recent due date at the top.

Survey Deficiency Updates

We've made several updates and added new Survey Deficiency functionality. Read below for more information.

Notifications for Survey Deficiencies

When a surveyor notes a deficiency at a service location, water purveyors can now create and send notifications to customers about what issues were found, what needs to be fixed, and by when. They can also send past due notices for deficiencies when they are not resolved by their required due date.

Deficiencies Now Appear On Customer Pages

Previously, water purveyors could see outstanding survey deficiencies for all customers on the Deficiencies page. Now, purveyors can also see outstanding deficiencies on individual Customer pages. To learn more about resolving survey deficiencies, click here.

Adding Attachments to Notifications

If you want to add an image or document to a notification batch, you can now do so in the new Attachments section of the Notifications page. This can be helpful if you want to send your customers a list of certified testers along with their notification.
